• 11.03.2019 • #MeghanMarkle and #KateMiddleton Greet Each Other with a Hug at Westminster Abbey We're freaking out over this dual duchess moment. • The royals gathered for a service at #WestminsterAbbey today, with the Queen and guests from across the 53 countries of the British Commonwealth in attendance. Considering the formal nature of the event, there’s wasn’t much room for the Cambridges or Sussexes to engage in romantic PDA. (Harry and Meghan did hold hands entering the church, but that’s a given for the loved-up newlyweds.) • However, we did notice a sweet moment between sisters-in-law Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle before the festivities began. Kate, who arrived to the abbey after Meghan, greeted her with an embrace and what looks like a kiss on the cheek. • Afterwards, they were also seen chatting while standing near the entrance with Prince Harry and Prince William, waiting for the rest of the royals to arrive. • Kate arrived in a striking red coat by Catherine Walker and matching fascinator, a strong contrast to Meghan's cream coat and @VictoriaBeckham dress. At last year's CommonwealthDay celebration, the #Cambridges and Sussexes entered Westminster Abbey together, with Meghan and Kate coordinating in white and navy outfits. This year, they flaunted their takes on royal style in different ways. The duchesses also shared sweet greetings with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who arrived before the Queen. • #meghanmarkle #duchessofsussex #meghanmarkle #meganmarkle #royalbaby #harryandmeghan #babyshower #dukeandduchessofsussex #pregnant #dukeandduchess #meghanmarklestyle #meghanmarklefans #dukeandduchess #meghanmarklestyle #meghanmarklefans •

31.01.2019 • The Duchess of Sussex visit @cityuniversitylondon • Another day, another Meghan Markle appearance that'll inspire you to ditch your entire wardrobe in favor of chic minimalism! Today, the Duchess rolled into one of her four new royal patronages, visiting City University of London with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, because—as Kensington Palace puts it—"Her Royal Highness is a strong advocate of accessible education for all." Meghan arrived (no, sorry, ARRIVED) at the event looking lovely in a LBD—or potentially a skirt and top, it's too soon to tell!—and black Givenchy coat, with her hair in an elegant top knot. The ACU is the last of her four newly-announced patronages that she is to make a visit to. She went to the National Theatre yesterday and visited Smart Works and the Mayhew earlier this month. At her event today, Meghan will "meet students and academics from across the ACU’s network of 500 university members," the Palace wrote. This is not Meghan's first time making a public visit to the organization. In early December, Meghan had a private engagement at King's College to meet with university leaders, academics and international scholarship students "to discuss the role of universities in addressing human trafficking and modern slavery, gender equality and inclusion, peace and reconciliation, and climate change and resilience," the ACU wrote on its site. • Coat @givenchyofficial • #meghanmarkle #royalmeghan #meganmarkle #duchessofsussex #dukeofsussex #royal #royalty

30.01.2019 • Visit to @nationaltheatre • The National Theatre is one of four patronages that Meghan initially announced earlier this month – and this one was handed down to her by Queen Elizabeth • As part of the Duchess of Sussex’s visit to London’s National Theatre on Wednesday, she caught a five-minute performance inspired by the play War Horse presented by young thespians from the Edith Neville Primary School who are working with the theater’s elementary school program. The performance was created to mark the centenary of Armistice Day. • The children sat on the floor gathered around Meghan. Kensington Palace shared a sweet photo of one school boy with an ear-to-ear smile and his chin propped up by his hands gazing up at the royal, clearly starstruck – and perhaps a bit smitten! Meghan, with a hand placed on her growing baby bump, returns the grin. • The mom-to-be confessed to the children that she had seen them perform before – when she snuck into their show in December. “You guys did an amazing job when I saw you perform right before Christmas,” she told them. “I snuck in and watched. It was great, I didn’t want to leave.” She continued, “So this will be like a take two. But you’re much quieter than when I was last here!”• The children knew they’d be performing for a “VIP,” but they were shocked to find out it was Meghan. “I thought maybe it was the Duke of Edinburgh or George Ezra. But then when they said it was a female VIP I thought, ‘Yes! Rita Ora!’ ” said Kroni Pacolli, 10. “I never thought I’d perform in front of the royal family and meet a royal! I’ve only ever seen her on TV. I’m speechless.” Pacolli added, “She came and shook my hand and I’m never going to wash this hand again!” His classmate Tahmina Begum, 10, told reporters, “We didn’t know Meghan was coming, I thought it was maybe another actress – Emma Watson.” She added, “Meghan knows how it feels for us as she used to be an actress, so I hope she was impressed by what she saw.” • #meghanmarkle #meganmarkle #duchessmeghan #duchessofsussex #nationaltheatre

• 16.01.2019 @themayhew Animal Home & Humane Education Center • Earlier this week, Meghan Markle was announced patron of four organizations: the National Theatre, Mayhew, Smart Works, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. They represent her existing passions (the arts, animal welfare, empowering women, and education, respectively), and serve as an indicator of what we can expect from the Duchess's philanthropic pursuits in the future. But for those unfamiliar with the concept of patronages, the announcement raises the question: what does it actually mean to be royal patron of something? "Patronages are quite a key part of being a member of the royal family," royal reporter Victoria Murphy tells Town & Country. She explained that it's essentially a figurehead for an organization and that a royal's support can do a great deal for a cause in terms of public exposure. "Members of the royal family accumulate many organizations throughout their lives. They're lending their support to an organization and having an ongoing relationship," Murphy says. "It allows them to transform in many ways the fortune of these charities and organizations by lending the profile that they have as members of the royal family. The attention can hopefully encourage things like increasing donations to charities and awareness of the causes." In Meghan's case, she received two patronages—the National Theatre and the Association of Commonwealth Universities—from the Queen. These are two groups that have had decades-long relationships with the royal family. But the other two charities in her purview, Mayhew and Smart Works, are new to the royal family's support and much smaller. "The royal family sometimes affiliates themselves with big national institutions that are already well known and have a lot of clout," Murphy says. "But they also try to lend their support to much smaller organizations that might not get anywhere near the level of profile or support or awareness that they can with a royal patronage. For these organizations, a royal patronage can be completely transformative." • #meghanmarkle #meganmarkle #royalmeghan
